Hack your Time

Have you ever felt super motivated and ready to conquer the world, only to find yourself lost in a sea of distractions the next day? You’re not alone. We’ve all experienced those moments when good intentions vanish with the first Instagram notification or the most tempting YouTube video.

This happens to you when you’re 15, and it happens to you when you’re 45.

But why does this happen? Because often we don’t know how to prioritize our tasks and we fall into the trap of procrastination. But don’t worry, there’s a solution!

There are many methods out there, but I’m going to share the one that works for me and that I still use today, even with my weekly video and my full-time job responsibilities.

Time is gold And the worst part is that you can’t buy it. Whether you’re a billionaire CEO or a college student, time is your most valuable resource.

Time is the one thing you can’t buy, and it keeps ticking whether you decide to take a 4-hour nap or work for 4 hours. Time passes regardless of your actions. One of the most important things for company or organization bosses, managers, investors, in short, very busy people… with so many projects, it’s not possible to do all the responsibilities in one day, while also fulfilling your personal life, family, exercise, etc… being human!

That’s why, in the early stages, they realize that prioritizing is a crucial part of moving forward and knowing that their business is moving 1% forward every day and their actions are having the biggest impact. Why is this important? Because you not only know how to recognize what’s most important, but you also know why. When you know why, you can communicate it, explain it, and ultimately delegate it.

Here’s the method:

Prioritize 3 things for your day.

  • Don’t underestimate the complexity of your tasks and always add more time than you think it will take.

  • Another important part is to measure your responsibilities with time, not by what they are; “I’ll dedicate 3 hours to this and then move on to the next.” This way you avoid mental burnout and stay fresh.

Be disciplined about what you set out to do the night before.

  • You plan your three tasks for the next day, without assuming it will rain, be a sunny day, or snow. You know that no matter what, your commitment is to do those three things for the day.

  • | It doesn’t matter if I’m inspired, I know it comes every day from 9am to 5pm.” — Steven Pretzfeld

  • It doesn’t matter if your work is creative or technical, it doesn’t matter, what matters is the hours you’re going to dedicate to your work, project or venture are the same and you do it no matter what.

Why does this work? Because it gives you a sense of control and helps you move towards your goals. By focusing on the most important tasks, you’ll avoid feeling overwhelmed and increase your productivity.
